Speaking Of Speech

by Willi Brown

I speak no true language.

                                    I get the jargon and

hold forth eloquently.

Though I do believe loose lips

                                    sink ships

I do prefer loose hips.

So tell me

your secret.

I'll laugh in your face.

"like the time she quoted Eliot

                                                            but credited Dylan..."

The power of action

            of the thing itself

                        can not be denied.

But the power of words...

            to know a new wonder

                        where before was complacent darkness.

                                    "...hoodwinked the green jolly

                                      to ride about the bacteria..."

I bark at the moon

with my knees

you see!

next

tuesday...
